Server Rules/Guidelines

Greetings crafters!

If you're reading this, you've probably already set foot into the wonderful world of digging and creating that is Sky's the Limit!
We hope you're ready to have a great time, because that's what this server is all about.
To ensure that opportunity is available to everyone, please observe the following global rules:

  • NO GRIEFING
    • This rule applies to everyone by default unless special permissions are given by the person being griefed. People put a lot of time and effort into their builds, and some don't want that ruined by player shenanigans.
  • LOOK, DON'T TOUCH
    • Don't alter other player's builds without their permission.
  • NO STEALING
    • Do not steal other player's resources. If it's not in the HQ Resource Room, go find it yourself.
  • NO INTENTIONAL CRASHING
    • Do not intentionally try to crash the server. This is frustrating for everyone involved.
  • NO OPEN INVITATIONS
    • This server is white-list only, meaning it is only open to those selected by the mods. Please don't invite anyone without permission. They will not be able to connect.
  • CURRENT MODS
    • All server/player issues should be taken up with the mods.
      • HeavyMetalRobot (Server Admin)

HQ Rules/Guidelines

The Sky's the Limit! server is home to a pretty unique central headquarters that was built with the intention of providing players with a wealth of resources to play with.
Please keep in mind these resources are player gathered, and are shared across the server. Here are some guidelines:

How to Find HQ

coordinates:
x: 2135
y: 64
z: -876

Tapping F3 on your keyboard while in-game will bring up an overlay that displays block/chunk/coordinate information for your current position. If you ever get lost, these are the coordinates for HQ.
  • Pro-tip: Be sure to write down the coordinates of important places often (i.e. your base, cave entrances, etc.) so that you can find your way back if you get lost!

HQ Resource Room

A repository for shared crafting materials.
  • GIVE A LITTLE, TAKE A LITTLE
    • If you choose to use resources from the HQ Resource Room, you implicitly agree to participate in the sharing system that goes along with it. Keep in mind that the resources are for the good of everyone, so if you use them please give back in contribution to the system so that others can enjoy the resources too. Ideally we'd like for you to replace what you take, but understand that is not always easy. As such we ask you at least contribute resources that are in high demand, or are sorely needed by a particular player.
  • KEEP IT ORGANIZED
    • The Resource Room is set up to accommodate the many various types of blocks and items you may collect throughout your adventures. Please try to fill the chests with only the type of block specified on the item frame attached to ensure ease-of-access.
      • Please try not to break these frames when you open the chests... they're a bit of a pain to put back. They look pretty though!
Tree of Life

A greenhouse for renewable/plantable crops.
  • REPLANT
    • If you harvest crops from the greenhouse, please be sure to replant the seeds so the crops will grow back! Unplanted seeds should be stored in the appropriately labeled chests.
  • DON'T JUMP ON THE CROPS
    • Just don't do it. It kills them.

HQ Food Bank

A storage room for edibles.
  • DON'T BE A GLUTTON, SHARE THE MUTTON
    • As with all HQ resources, please replace what you take. HQ is designed to be fairly self-sustaining when it comes to food, so this should be easy enough.

HQ Animal Farm

A home for our furry friends.

  • THINNING THE HERD
    • Should you need to kill an animal for resources, please make sure to breed them first. Do not leave any less than two animals in a pen at a time, otherwise they will no longer be a renewable resource.
  • CLOSE THE GATE
    • Please don't leave the gates open, as the animals will get out and you will have to chase them down. Sounds fun, but trust me, it's not.
